I know two places where you can get info if you don't get enough here. One is the "Doublegun BBS" forum on www.doublegunshop.com/BBS Several Husky enthusiasts there. Another is the "Swedish Commercial and Civilian Arms" forum on www.gunboards.com/forums It is 'way down the forum list; keep scrollin' until you find it. Several Scandinavian posters there who really know and love this make.

What I recall of 51s is that they are excellent guns that are sometimes short-chambered and over-choked by American standards. Both easy enough to fix.

What kind of info are you looking for? I have been a Husqvarna collector for 25 years.

I just purchased one in decent shape, very tight, strong springs, some freckeling on the barrel blueing, most of the case colour gone except under the lever, very shiny bores. It has 2 3/4 chamber(12ga) and is choked .680 and .692 I'm assuming the bore is .729 I can't measure that. Finish on the stock might be a refinish but is very nice and the checkering is sharp, no cracks or oil darkenning and all screw slots still line up straight with the bore. With the double underlugs and crossbolt it seems like this is a very strong action.

Mainly looking to see how others feel about this model and how it rates for quality..

I'm kind of a hammer double fan and have four others hammer shotguns, LC Smith, Stevens 235, Beretta O/U Percussion(reproduction)and a Belgium noname that I used 50yrs ago and was left with my parents and is in sad shape(wallhanger now)I take out all but the Belgium out hunting.

I've got a Husqvarna hammerless gun, extractors, don't know the model. It's a fine utilitarian gun, priced right, overchoked. I had the barrels opened to IC/M and now it's handy.

In general, I think they're way under-appreciated. You won't find a lot of praise from them from those who haven't handled them much, but it's currently my favorite 12 ga.

"Sleepers" for sure! Don't tell anybody.....

Or, tell 'em "hammer guns are just too dangerous/slow/ancient" for any right-thinking Gringo to shoot. ("Now where did you see that rusty old thing? Need to hang it on the wall in my man-cave...").

I've got a couple of the underlever Husq 16 ga. They have rebounding hammers, probably the same locks as the 51. The underlever Lefechaux system is slow and not the strongest, but they're kind of fun occasional guns. Bores pitted but safe, I think.

Look here Date of manufacture click on history then tool to see when your Husky was made. You may have to shrink your text to 75% to view entire page. They were made from 1911 to 1947 with 2 1/2 inch chambers. I have a 16 ga. made in 1913 that I had made into a straight grip gun and love it.

Seeing that you've been bitten by the hammergun bug too, I think you'll love your Husky too.

Thank you for the dating link. It looks like mine was made mid 1940. I took it duck hunting today but didn't have anything come in, it was more of a walk with a shotgun and my dog. I have a vunch of low pressure 2 1/2" loads with Nice & ITX shot for one of my other euro shotguns(a Darne)

I'll try and post a pic of the Husky tomorrow.

Thank You
