I've got a box coming of Hornady 300 grain round nose (not the FMJ one - those are a bit longer than these). I'm wondering if I should start with RL 15 as I've got a good load using RL 15 for the Hornady 270 grain spire point and Swift AF.

Or will H4350 be a better bet? (I have Varget, H4350, and RL 15 on the shelf).

Thanks!

My standard load with this bullet was 84 grains of IMR 4350.
Worked well and gave nice mushrooms to photograph.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll start with my H4350 and see what happens.

AussieGunwriter: 84 grains of IMR 4350 sounds like a pretty stiff load with a 300-grain bullet. IMR gives 78 grains as the max load. Any idea what kind of velocity you were getting?

No.
I used an old Lyman book for that one and it was a compressed load I worked up to that shot well so I left it. It was many years before I got a chronograph or started writing so believed everything I read.

I don't use reloading book at all these days. Makes me feel old I guess.
