I have a ruger that will jam on the first round with three in the mag. If I put only two in it cycles fine. I have read that this is a problem and thought a pointed nosler may help. If so will a 400gr partition open up at say 1800fps on target? Thanks. Kawi.

kawi,
It is my understanding that the Partition is not a bonded bullet. Furthermore, the jacket wall thickness tends to be thinner compared to TBBC or A Frame. I don't know if the Partition is 100% lead or some sort of antimony alloy. I think you will have no problems with a partition opening up at 1800 fps.
Edit: the Nosler site details a lead alloy core but I don't know about the front partition. Either way, you're good to go at 1800fps

The front core of Partitions is alloyed with a little antimony, but it's still relatively soft, the reason they open up so well.

I have used them before on hogs with my 416 Ruger Alaskan and they open up like a bad suitcase. The front end is very soft for a 416 caliber projectile.

It will expand on deer at 200 yards fired from a .416 taylor. This is a actual photo of a doe I shot with one at 200 yards. Blood 20' on each side of the the deer. reflex264
