I'm almost sure that my next rifle is goin to be a 375 H&H and since I dont reload need some help on factory ammo I usually get Federal ammo and was thinking of getting there 260 grain Accubonds and was wondering what else everyone else uses?

I've found the 260 grain Accubond to be the most accurate bullet in several .375s I've had, including the permanent resident in that caliber. I handload only for the cartridge, but see no reason that the bullet wouldn't not be good in factory loaded dress.

That said, it just depends what you want to use if for, as .375s are seldom varmint rifles and the first priority is bullet performance once it hits game. Not much requirement for MOA; minute of buffalo is pretty easy to accomplish.

I think you will find .375 H&H rifles to be generally good shooters, for reason I can't quite figure. My .375 is among the most accurate hunting rifles I've ever seen, of all calibers.

What are you killing? I've seen the 270 grain Remington load dispatch moose and very large brownies with aplomb. Tough to trump that load in the H&H.

I'm a fan of the Remington Safari Grade 375 H&H ammo, loaded with 375 Swift A-Frames. It is pricey though. I got my rifle so late I didn't have time to reload for it before my bear hunt, but was very happy with the bullet performance.

As was said, it depends on what you use it for. When my son and I went to Zimbabwe last summer, on our DG hunt, he used Hornady factory loads. 300 gr. DGS and DGX. They did extremely well.

The Federal Safari line with Barnes 300 TSXs works well for really tough game, like Cape buffalo, but overly expensive for most NA applications.

Long term practice shooting with a 375 H&H is probably best served by handloading. A used basic setup - often available in the Classifieds here - is not much more than you'd pay for 5-10 boxes of factory ammo.

My rifle shoots Federal Premium with 300 gr. Partitions really well, but the cost is crazy stuff.

Double Tap Ammo loads a 270 TSX that I have had excellent all around use with. It's gone up in cost since I first started using it but it is good ammo.

Absolutely! I had never considered HSM or the others as a source for factory loaded .375 ammo. Not sure why, I've shot plenty of ammo loaded by HSM.

Funny I just bought three boxes of HSM 375 285gr Speer Grand Slams today at a Joplin gun show and thought I got a good deal at $130. Looks like I could have done a bit better online - thanks for the links.

Great caliber for 300grain slugs. If velocity was cut buy 150-200fps it would be even better.

Remington 270 grain SP have been accurate in my 375....but have never used them on game....but they play heck with targets backed with gallon jugs of water....
Prices on links shared by Hizzie beat what I paid for the Remington ammo I bought...

I got one box of Federal Premium Cape Shok when I bought the rifle. They shot cloverleafs at 50 yds with the express sites. I reload Barnes TSX and banded solids which are as acurate. I have no experience with lighter bullets but the 375 seems to shoot everything well.

Glad I could help. I did my homework when I planned on getting a .375H&H, still couldn't decide between the M70 or CZ550 though. I wanted to be able to actually shoot it without going broke. Then I got the .458 in trade and had to hunt down budget .458WM ammo.

I've had good success with the Hornady 270gr Interlock. Used it on plains game and whitetail.

Here's my best group with this ammo out of my CZ550.

The two on the left are 260 grain Accubonds and the one on the right is the 270 grain Remington both right at 2700 fps.
