Good price. Appears to be fully operational, just a few dings. Didnt know what I was going to put it on... but have a 35 Whelen.....
Will these old scopes take the recoil.
Help appreciated.
thanks

If these old scope won't do anything else, they will take abuse. I had one which I used on every hard-kicking rifle I built. Finally, I loaned it to a fellow whose 458 had trashed his Ziess variable and he bought it from me rather than give it back. I currently use them on a 35 Whelen and a 338RCM and they are stone reliable. Optically, they are not the brightest but they are tough and I kind of like the blued steel look. GD

I had one on my old 12 gauge Ithaca deerslayer for about 20 years and it always held zero. That gun kicked like a mule with it's nuts caught in a bear trap.

I had an old steel tube Weaver 2.5 on my first .375 H & H and it had no problem with the recoil. Never shifted point of impact even with a lot of practice at the range.
However, the scope was not sealed well, and it would fog all the time.
I sold the rifle with the scope, and warned the buyer cold rainy days were not his friend...

they are sturdy indeed. This one has stood up to thousands of rounds from my Mini 14, a rifle known to be hard on scopes.

I have two V-7's, circa 1965-1970.One has been ona 7mag, and .06, then a 50 cal ML. The other on a.308. Had to have one rebuilt about ten years ago. Both are still going strong.

I had a nice one for many years and used on several different rifles over the time I owned it from30-06 to 243's It was a very reliable scope. My buddy was having trouble finding a scope he liked for his #1 in 450/400 , so I gave him the 2.5 and it resides there to this day.

Finn had a K2.5 on his .375, at one point he wrote that it had survived over 2000 rounds.
I do so envy those of you who knew him.

If you can hurt that old Weaver with recoil you are a better man than me. I don't think I could stand behind a hard recoiling rifle long enough to damage one of the old Weavers.
I have them on my 30-06, 35 Whelen, 375 H&H, 400 Whelen and 45-70. None have failed so far after many, many hundreds of rounds.

The older Weaver scopes are junk. Do not waste your money on them. Just leave them on the table and walk away. I buy them just so other guys don't get all dissappointed. Here's one of my prized 7x57s with a "junk" K4 on it. Best scope i ever had on a Ruger #1:

I have the K2.5 60C I bought new in the mid 60's. Luckily I had it refurbed and a std plex(had fine)installed by WSRS before they closed shop. Haven't used it since. I had quite a few of the steel Weavers. Besides the K2.5 I've now only got a K4 MicroTrac w/post and crosshair. It also was refurbed.

Just picked one up at the Wasilla gun show this morning for $15 and it's already mounted in a set of Weaver tip-off rings and base for a M-70.

I have had a K2.5 60B on my 12ga. slug gun for 25yrs., no problems. Also had one on my Winchester 88 .308 deer rifle for many years. Great scopes!

I love the old Weavers and still use a couple my dad and I bought new in the late 1950s. I have several others I got along the way. I had an accident with one that really surprised me, however. I dropped a K3-60B onto a softwood floor from about 40", and the ocular lens fractured badly. This was a pretty soft springy floor.
