Nothing warms my heart like a man buying a gun...and it's very cool when that man is a liberal. That's one more liberal who will be telling his party no more gun control. This is THE loser issue for the libs, and when more and more centrists or leftists buy guns, it becomes even more of a loser issue. Yeah, he may have been a bit clueless, but we should encourage him...as difficult as it may be. Kevin-I remember several years ago a man who, I believe was in Clinton's administration, and vocal FOR gun control ended up using HIS gun to thwart a home invasion IIRC(some of you may remember specifics). The problem is, he and I assume others like him, believe that HE was the only one who was smart enough to use a gun in the proper manner. So, all of us morons shouldn't be allowed to have one yet he should. They believe that laws are for other people, not themselves (see the way they want to administer the 1st amendment).

I would have consulted with the shop owner on this at some point -- and would for sure now, for future opportunities. There's an advantage to be had somewhere.
Sell him a gun, OFFER TRAINING, might change some minds.
At the very least, you guys should get a poster of that Obama Gun Salesman of the Decade and park it on the wall. The sales "lost" will be far outweighed by the warm-fuzzies other potential customers will get - making them an easier sell.

Yeah, I remember that. And there will always be people like that. But you have to admit, we�ve turned a corner. Gun control doesn�t have much support even inside the Democratic party. And these days, there are a LOT of lefties who are 100% against gun control and very pro-2nd Amendment. Hell, I�ve even see a web forum like this one dedicated to left wingers who are into guns� lurked around and they had serious hardcore Communists who were not only into guns, but zealously promoted the 2nd Amendment. These are strange times. I may have very little in common with democrats or the left wing. But if he�s a gun owner and pro-2nd Amendment, at least we have common ground on one item. We�re winning the battle for the 2nd Amendment�but we don�t let up, we never quit. I think alienating gun owners just because their politics leans to the left is a bad idea. We should welcome them to their enlightment and encourage them to learn more and educate their friends. One of my closest friends is a serious machinegun man, owns several and knows more than even Kokalis will ever know; and he�s a hardcore socialist left winger. Him and I STRONGLY disagree on most everything political ( but he�s fun to talk with), but on the subject of gun control, we�re 100% on the same page. He strongly disagrees with his party on that subject, and will vociferously argue the pro 2nd Amendment side when he�s at party affiliated events or campaigns. This issue isn�t won by big national campaigns, it�s won by one guy talking to the next guy about what�s right and what�s wrong.

IIRC Tom Cruise was one of 'em, but there have been several examples of two-faced anti-gunners protecting themselves, or hiring people to protect them, with guns. I have heard Rosie O'Donnell did the same but I can't find proof.
