Then word "once" can also be used in a plural sense. Don't necessarily have to mean only one time.

Being flippant aside, ya I noticed that also.

Beware of thieves, scammers and dishonest members on the "Fire" classifieds. Ya there is a thief here too. Whatever!!

They're all around the CampFire and everywhere.

Hadn't thought about that but you're right - I'll have to remember that!

The only time I have once-fired brass is when I load a batch for a rifle, fire them, then sell the rifle. In that situation the brass never had a chance to be loaded and fired more than once grin

Speaking for myself, I have sold new or used brass because I have changed my cartridge lineup and no longer need the brass "lurking" and taking up space.

I have bought quite a bit of once fired brass off the campfire. It's all been good stuff. The last I bought was 500 once fired .270 Win. brass from somebody that don't reload. Must have cost a pretty penny for 500 rounds of 270 factory ammo. Most of it was nickel cases so I'm thinking it was high end ammo.

I have buckets full of .40S&W and .223Rem brass that's once fired because I pick it up after the cops shoot on our range. I don't have a gun to shoot it out of, so I know it's once fired. I'd love to get something for it someday.

Yeah, I have a bunch of once-fired handgun brass myself, from the same sort of source. Also a bunch of once-fired .223's, from going on sponsored prairie dog shoots where somebody else supplied factory ammo. But I absolutely know all that's once-fired!

There are those that save New brass. Fired factory ammo, to be reloaded later.
I had a 22-250 for a long time and only fired .. maybe 500 rounds of New Remington ammo through it.
Saving it for the time I bought dies to re-load.
I never did.
Sold the gun and later the brass
Once fired.

Many ranges also sweep up brass and sell as once fired.
Beware, some may be multiple fired and poorly reloaded stuff.
Better to be sold for true scrap.

As always, buyer beware.

I could always tell my brass from military at service rifle matches, because I polished mine.
Once fired military usually has the anneal stains.

I've wondered the same thing too MD. Buyer beware...I've never bought any 1x brass but if I did I'd be pretty selective about what I bought.

During the Great Obama Component Shortage, I bought some fired brass on the Campfire. The guy admitted some cases had been fired 2-3 times. It worked fine, but....

"once" upon a time it was fired?

"Once fired" may mean that it was fired one at a time.

Weird for a hand loader to give up once-fired brass. I consider brass "suspect" if it's never been fired, so why go to the trouble of only firing it once?

And pretty much the only time I give up working brass is when i lose it hunting. I hate that.

"Once-fired brass" invariably recalls an anecdote of my military life.

While in flight training at Laredo, Texas, we often went across the border to Nuevo Laredo. In the plaza, we were invariably accosted by kids who asked, "Hey Meester! You want my seester? She is a virgin."

But one little urchin I'll never forget offered, "You want my mother? She is a virgin!"

It seems that every trigger that has been worked on is "Crisp" too.
