I need some help/ideas on how to remove bedding from a bbl channel so as to free float the bbl? Originally full-length bedded but I think I could get better accuracy out of a free floated bbl?

I believe a barrel channel scraper would work fine. I'm sure Brownells or Midway can set you up. Short of that, an appropriate size rod or dowel wrapped in sandpaper works.

Get some rolled coins. Pennies, nickles, dimes, etc. and roll some various sand paper around them.

I like to use a dremel to get things started, then swap over to sockets wrapped in sand paper to clean it up.
Don't use a Dremel if you haven't used one quite a bit for shaping various materials, they can ruin things quite handily as well.

Go to the hardware store and purchase a couple of different diameters of wood dowel that are close to the diminsion of the BBL. Wrap with the sandpaper grit of choice and wala. Have been doing it that way for years and it works well.

If you have a deep socket set that will work as well. Find a size close to your barrel diameter and wrap sandpaper around it, Put on a socket extension to give your fingers a break.

Found a large "pull" spring works to.. Wrap it in sandpaper and it flexes to conform to barrel channel...

Just a wood dowl the size of the barrel channel you can get at any hardware store will work well if you don't have one in your shop.
