I am switching from a collapsible stock to an ACE skeleton stock 9.9" in length. Does it matter what buffer I use? Can I use the carbine length one I have already or do I need to go to a rifle length buffer? I did order a rifle length buffer tube extension so I have that. I am just wondering about the buffer and spring length.

You must use the rifle buffer and spring in a rifle length RE.

How does that length compare to the length of a collapsible stock?

carbine spring is 10 1/16th" to 11 1/4"

rifle is 11 3/4" to 13 1/2"

rifle buffer weighs 5.2 oz and the spring has a different compression rate.

This is what it has for a description on midwayusa.

Stock is a direct bolt on and includes a 1/2" thick rubber recoil pad and uses a standard A1/A2 receiver extension tube, buffer and spring (not included).

So I ordered a rifle length extension tube, buffer and spring. So I should be good to go with that.

I just put one on my latest build which will be my new 3gun rifle and as stated you will be good to go with the rifle length extension, buffer, and spring. Putting the foam cover over the extension is fun but otherwise a pretty easy install. I really like the stock so far but its been a bit chilly to do much shooting with it.
