Has anybody been following Apple this week? Apples fiscal year starts October 1, 2011. So they reported for their first quarter Oct - Dec 2011. Here are some of the stagering numbers:
For every second of the quarter they sold 4 iPhones
(240 per minute, 14,400 per hour)
For every second of the quarter they sold ~2 iPads
(116 per minute, 6,998 per hour)
They averaged over $150,000,000 in revenue every 8 hours of the quarter for a total of $46.3 Billion
They had a net profit of $13.06 billion for the quarter, more than RIM (Blackberry) had in revenue for the entire year
This is the first time that Samsung has not been the leader in sales in smart phones.
These are excellent results but.....
They had to make the product to keep up with demand
They had to ship the product to keep up with demand
They had to do all of this and make a profit.
This is the best quarter by a non oil producing company!
Now without Steven Jobs can the creativity continue????

My iPhone is the schitt. I can see what's going on here wherever I am, on the tractor, in the treestand, on the boat. Pretty damn cool. Bought my wife one for Christmas, cost me $1.05 US Dollars. But don't tell her that

I confess, I've bought nothing but Apple computers since 1996. Bought another from the University Surplus Stores yesterday. Excellent service from their techs for 15 years. Saw a funny poster on an office door at the U the other day depicting Bill Gates saying: " if I had a nickel for every time WINDOWS crashed... wait a minute, I do!"

How did Savage do on their last quarter? As a privately owned corporation, they don't release their numbers to the public as far as I know.
