Fast approaching mid 60's here. My wife say's she likes the look of that type hat when I let the beard grow, and so does my son. ... As always, YMMV wink

My grandfather wore hats like that to church every Sunday for as far back as I can remember. Looked OK on him

As did mine. Plenty of men of Irish descent here in the hard-coal region wore those tweed hats with their Sunday best. Not so much anymore....

I heard my Dad call that a co#k$ukker hat once when I was young. When I asked him what he was talking about he replied, "I don't know what ya' really call 'em, but Earl (our curmudgeonly neighbor) always wears a hat like that and he's a real co#k$ukker". Kinda stuck in my head ever since. crazy
