I'd gladly run with any data you can find on a 165 bullet.

I see a problem. Hodgdon says the minimum load for a 165 is 53 grains. Loading less may cause a pressure spike. If you want a lower pressure load then try H4895 43 - 47.5 grains. What other powders do you have?

I wouldn't touch H 4895.. but then I hate that powder...
try Varget or RL 15, or IMR 4895, 4064, 3031.. or a host of other powders in that burn range..
also make sure to check the MV parameters of that bullet, which as I understand was designed with the 30/30 in mind...

Sf I was just suggesting an alternative for a reduced load. Any of the powders you mention would probably work too. Good advice about the design parameters of the FTX bullet.

I've considered playing with some in an 06 for Seafire Jr to use..
30 grains of IMR 4198 or 30 grains of SR 4749 for a little faster velocity...
that would be right in the 30/30 range the bullet was intended for...and would be a good alternative to a 150 grain Ballistic tip..or 165 for that matter..
