Last time I did this (posted in two forums) Skidrow came along and made a snide remark about me not being real patient. I don't see it that way for the record.

Well then its not a scope, if Mike can't identify a vintage, then its most certainly not a scope.
You think its a euopean scope? you fellas seemed to get a lot of early german optics turn up.

I'd have to agree with Joe. The physical characteristics lean to Winchester in appearance.

Looks like a Urtel scope without the external ajustable mounts. To bad there is nothing stamped on the tube, even non descriptive numbers. Does it have cross hairs or some other type of reticle?

Looks like the later Winchester rimfire scope (1935-1945) used on the Winchester 677/697. They came in 2.75X and 5X. I think the only marking of this version was on the mount not on the tube.

I remember the few early Winchester A5's I looked at were all marked, as were the Stevens A5's after Stevens took it over from Winchester. But I guess never say never.

I talked with a guy today at the Richmond show. He sells tons of old Winchesters. He told me that he is 100% sure that it is a Winchester scope.
