To each their own. Half my predator mounts are open mouth, and half are closed. Predators are about jaws & claws and I have absolutely no problem with them mounted as such, that is of course if the taxidermy is of high quality. The wolf I shot on Alaska's Gakona river is baring his teeth, but the quality is there. I like him, I consider him one of my finest trophies. Bush League?.....Naw. I agree AS LONG AS the mount is 'realistic' and that one is!! Great pics and mounts - THANKS

Hell, I say shoot a dozen and mount them like this! Now that's reality! This is what I think of whenever I see an open mouth mount.

I didn't realize that mounted heads could produce "red-eye" effects in flash photos....

He was a big male and weighed 103 pounds. He has some of the most beautiful fur I've ever seen. I'm kicking around the thought of a lifesize mount.... They are one of the most mysterious and majestic creatures in the entire world. Truely an opportunity cherished.... Congratulations my friend. That is an AWESOME critter.

That's awesome. No matter what you end up doing with him. I would have your favorite picture of him blown up to poster size and put into frame.
Pictures do more for me than mounts or rugs.

Pat-just saw this thread. Congrats to you! When you get back from runnin' the line, how 'bout some details?
Rifle? How many were there? How far? Temp? Spot and stalk?
Again-congrats on a beautiful trophy!
I should have just bought a [bleep] T3...
