Now that is a fantastic looking knife IMO

I really like the overall outline in Loveless style.

I like the pins, wood and filework a lot.

The only thing that I can think that would demonstably improve it would be to have a tapered tang to match the distal taper in the blade....................dj

Yes I really like the tapered tangs but that don't leave much room to do this kind of file work. And I tried this type of filework on the blade so I could taper the tang but this file work didn't look good on the side of the blade. So can't do a tapered tang and this type of file work on the same knife (YET).
Thanks for the comment., Art.

PS: you can see I have the file work centered between the handle pins.

For discussions sake:

I like the tapered tang like in my Picture but I like the idea of having the file work centered between the pins like on yours. The centered file work is probably a better idea.

FWIW I also prefer NOT having liners like on yours. Some will like the red liners but I prefer nice wood and the simplicity of wood and steel, especially in an elegant style knife like your Loveless. But those are just some of my personal tastes, others may differ and be just as valid.

But anyway, Beautiful knife you made! :-) .....................dj

I think I like that file work , it's just fine. Sometimes I like the red spacers and sometimes I don't, I guess it's just the mood I'm in.
Thanks for posting the picture.

Great work, the black really helps the filework stand out.

Also, LOVE the Loveless drop point!

I like that knife. Great attention to detail. The pins are clocked correctly! You don't see that all the time unfortunately.

Art, do you have a website that shows your knives for sale or are you a custom order shop only?

If you go here http://www.blademag.com/profile/ArtSummers and look at the slide show or under the Raven where it says "Photos (123)" click on photos and it will bring up pictures of what I'v been making. And if you click on a picture it will show only that picture and most has specs.
Thanks for asking.

PS: all my knives are only made by me one at a time and all hand made. So they are like a custom order.

I don't know. I have never owned a true Loveless knife, but I have looked at them, have seen hundreds and hundreds of photos of them. I can't seem to recall ever seeing much filework on them, if any. So, to me, it just looks out of place on that lovely lovely knive.

The filework looks fantastic and as per usual, your work is impecable. Someday, I hope to build a blade of that caliber.

No, I never seen filework on a Loveless knife and they all had a tapered tange too. And I can't put this file work on a tapered tang knife ether. This may be a Loveless style knife. But I'm not trying to make a copy of one ether.
