I am now loading for the .375 H&H and would like to take advantage of the experience of those who frequent these pages. What loads do you use for:
Elk and Moose?
Brown/Grizzly Bear?
Africa, Plains and Dangerous Game?
All-around load?

Thank you.
It's been years since I've used my .375 H&H as it has been semi-retired and I now use a light weight .375 AI. But a load that worked very well for me in my H&H (that I would classify as a all around non dangerous game load) was a 270 gr. Hornady Spire Point over 82.0 grains of WW760. This is over listed max but works well in my rifle. When I do my part, it will keep 3 shots around 1/2" at 100 yd. I'm hearing that the new Magic Powder for the H&H is RL15 but I've not done any reloading yet. -memtb

well, it's been a while, but I checked my log book and this used to work pretty well:
A-Square bullets, 300 grn (should be similar for any round nose type) I might try woodleigh for DG loads now..
IMR4350, 76-78 grains IN MY GUN..
this chronograped at 2500-2600fps.. (25 fps per grain)..

I would start around 74, and go up 1 grain at a time...
and suggest that 2550fps is a good load..

As you can plainly see from the guys who post more than I do, they know more about it than I do. That said my plinking load is 66 grains of R-15 under a 300 grain Hornaday RN projectile. They shoot at about 1.25 MOA from my rifle and hit pretty close to Federal's Premium Safari grade load with 300 grain Noslers. The Federal premium load works like lightning on white tail (4 so far) and I'll be using either them or Remington's safari grade load with Swift A-Frames for Kudu and Oryx this fall. I just ordered a box of teh Remingtons last night and hope they will tighten my groups. If they do I'll buy a box of Swift projectiles to reload with. Range report and results from Namibia will be posted as available....
I use Reloder 15 or 4895 for nearly everything in a 375. For accuracy it is hard to beat the 250 Sierra. The 260 Partition would be a good all around load for most things and the 300 Partition will take probably everything except an elephant. I have found that using a crimp seems to help accuracy and standard deviation. I use Federal GM215M primers but Winchester WLRM will work just as well. In my experience this is one of the easier calibers to load for. It is almost as easy to make shoot as a 308 Win. Usually the same powders will work in both. I have not tried 225 grain bullets so I cant say about those. Dont be afraid to seat the bullet down in the case equal to factory ammo length. You want to be sure it will fit and feed through the magazine.
