They've been given the green light by the Russian/China UN veto and they want to get it done before West and the Arab countries can get their act together. It is an interesting contrast to go back and look at the justification for the Libyan no fly zone (hey, their killing civilians) compared to the response to the Syrians killing civilians.

and while Khadaffy's human rights violations were little league compared to Assad's, and Libya was of no strategic consequence, NATO jumped in with both feet.
Syria, which is slaughtering its citizens by the carload, and is Iran's catspaw and chief ally, is permitted to go it's merry way, because the Russkis are protecting a long time client.

CNN link. Didn't see it on FOX site yet. Looks like another hunnertennahalf slaughtered. The sad thing is, when the brutal bastard finally goes down, the mooselimb brotherhood will take over & it may be worse, if that can be imagined. Iran is likely crapping in their drawers about now. http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/09/world/meast/syria-unrest/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Assad's wife, although born in the UK, is a Sunni Syrian, whose parents came from the very city that her husband is now pounding into moist and gummy sand.
She's got to be more than a little conflicted about this, wouldn't you say?

so, you're thinking Assad's not getting any these days, huh? maybe that's why he's so cranky.
I'm thinking one of his generals is going to put one in his brain before too much longer.

Yes, and now that Khadafi is dead, Lybia is in ruins, government is a shame, islamist and Al Quaida groups are spreading and firearms shipped by the ten thousand to an already over armed country come back to Europe by ferries from Tunisia or Algeria or by boat smuggling to Italy.
And NATO and France and England are silent on what's going there because they created a real unmangeable chaos...
Always remind you, that you are far away from these bastards but we are close and we leave with them each days.
All the "va t'en guerre" people and politicians are always to the rear, protected by police, secret services and special forces. Only the poor working men or women dies from terrorist bombing going to work by the subway because of their fcckingg government choices.
So leave them killing each other! You are no more civilian when you have mortars, rocket launchers, cannon and assault rifles..
When they kill each other they don't kill us...
The french (my) government as the US one is looking on foreingn policy to make his mistakes and failures forbidden because polling is close. But it does'nt work any more.
As i tell to keyboard's heros and internet soldiers: "if you want to help them, go there and fight, but stop pushing the other to do the job for you when you're at home drinking martini's, sniffing coke and eating steaks".
Mexican drug's cartels war killed more than 40000 peoples most of them innocent. What's UN doing?
In Africa christians are slaughtered in Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Egypt and other countries what do we do, western countries? And China is shooting Tibetans protesters, what do we say, what do we do?
Turkish are killing kurds (sorry they are classed terrorists by the US of A)what do we do?
So leave Assad in his own schitt. The more he kills the less will come close to me in Europe.
Have a good day.

Wonder how long before it occurs here? I'm being a bit paranoid but the way this country is going I wonder if it will get bad enough that a civil war breaks out some day? Well all these countries support terrorism and are anti American yet we have to put our nose into there business. I would let them figure it out. It sucks but hey they like the way they live so let em do what they do. We have enough problems with Iran, North Korea, China, ect.
