I appreciate everyones comments. Now I really have no choice, my next rifle will definitely be a .270. I hope I can stop at just one........

im not a .270 guy buy any means, although a couple of the cooler rifles i've had have been .270's, the only logic or rationale that needs to affect the decision is the the almighty buck! if you can swing it, do it. and throw some backstrap on the fire for me!

Never had a .270. Couldn't figure why I'd want one when there are all those other choices to sort thru. Ol' hunting buddy of mine had one but he couldn't hit anything with it. It was a pretty gun though, and it had a $1,500.00 German scope on it, one of those Schmidt & Bender things. Dang all, if you were in open country that thing had an image so clear you almost needed sunglasses. Probably he couldn't hit anything 'cause we were hunting southern creek bottoms and everything was too close to see at 12X. I used to give him a ham to take home with him just so his wife wouldn't rag on him about wasting money for the hunting trip, year after year. He told me once I should trade him my Model 94 even, but I didn't have any .270 dies and my vision was still 20/15. I still don't have any .270 dies and my vision is getting a little ragged around the edges but peeps still work.

I am..........disturbed.

That's the fun of guns, you know, dreaming about one chambering or the other.

Of course the 270 Win. is very good as its proven and popular.

When I started out in the early 50's we could get all the 30-06 ammo and rifles we wanted free from our club and the DCM. It made no sense to bother with the 270.

Of course now I have a couple of .277" rifles. I shot a big deer with one and bought a handsome 270 for its stock.

Wish it were a 30-06! cool

All guns should be locked up when not in use!
