2011 sucked ass. Plain and simple.

Well, '12 is kickin' the ass that '11 sucked.

Not only did my wife get a far better job, but that required us to move to a new town.

Which resulted in a much better house and neighborhood.

Which led to me landing a MUCH better gig.

Oh, and my little sister landed a good job recently, with a better one in the pipeline.

Oh, and we just got word today that one of my very best friends landed one HELLUVA nice job that is damned near a life-safer for him and his.

Yep, '12 is kickin' ass...

VERY glad to hear it!
Let's hope others in your situation won't give credit where credit is NOT due.

Good to hear!

It seems like about a week into '12 a bunch of projects that were on hold, business wise, through '11 started picking up speed. More folks are just more positive, overall, it seems.

Maybe the election year "hope that there will be change"?!

I'm very happy for you all Sean. You deserve nothing but the best but I am a bit bummed you folks won't be moving to this part of the world. We could use more like you out this way.

That's a heckuva start to the new year for you all. Congratulations, Sean.

'12 is looking like the year I make some changes professionally, too. I'm about to take a course to prepare for my next step in licensing for my trade and today I learned about 3 local contractors who'd like to use my services if I decide to hang out my own shingle and leave my current employer.

so, are you fortunate because of the CIC, or in spite of the CIC?

if Obama had just come along sooner, would you have found yourself even better off? i'm contemplating change too. is more change out there?

Nope. 2012 has been rife with crap so far. if the rest of the year goes like the fits 6 weeks have, this one will go in the books as worstest yet.

Glad someone is having a good run in '12...
