does anybody have the new swift manual yet?
I'm looking for reloading data for the 30-06, 165gr, A Frame...

Or does everyone just use the Hornaday book and work up from there??

Let me know if you think I'm right....... I've loaded a few a-frames in my day. They seem to "go in hard"--in other words when you seat them they feel like they are just a hair wider than other .308 bullets. For this reason I think you have to load them just a little lighter than other brands. On the other hand they seem shorter than others and may have less bearing area.
I'd recoment starting about 1.5 grains lower than a hornady and working up from there. Good luck--I've had excellent accuracy from the a-frames--possibly a result of that hard seating theory???

Hello Steve:
I met the CEO of Swift a couple of times this past three months and from what he said the Handbook should be out by now.
The only experience I have had with Swift is the Scirroco in 308 for the 30-06. They take a heavy load, and I have only used Varget with them. Since they are so expensive I have not been willing to experiment like I do with other bullets. They are precision made bullets, and I don't want to waste them.

Bojon

Nope I have had one on order since the middle of February. At Swift they told me that it would not be on the shelves until late May or early June.

The only one I've tried is the 250 gr a-frame. I found that I could work up loads with Hornady 250's, and an accurate load with the hornady, was accurate with the a-frame. I also found that with the same charge, the a-frame was 100 fps faster, so max loads with the hornady are a no no with the a-frame.

Dial in some loads with the cheaper hornadies, and so long as they are a grain or so under max, swap in the a-frames. You ought to be able to dial in the a-frames, and still have 2 boxes of hunting ammo left over.
