American intervention in Northern Russia 1918-19 has anybody done any reading on this ? found out my great uncle was there. mostly men from michigan because it was colder hell .

I've got a book about it around here somewhere. It was written in the '50s, when several of the survivors were still around and able to be interviewed. It was republished as one of Bantam War Series, so it might be available cheap at a used bookstore.
"The Ignorant Armies" is the title to look for, I can't recall the author offhand. The title refers to the fact that the troops involved were flat-out ignorant of the reason they were there. Google it up, it's a pretty good read. The troops were issued leftover M-N Nagants from the Imperial Russian contracts, Westinghouse and Remington rifles meant for Czarist Russia.

Seems like this would be an appropriate title for a book about Obama suporters.
