Has anyone here had experience with the Swarovski 8X30 Rangefinder? I'm curious as to whether the optical quality is as good as the SLC 8X30s, i.e., is the rangefinder an SLC 8X30 monocular with ranging capacity?

It is an extremely great instrument with exceptional optics. I have used one for years, until I got the EL binoculars with the rangefinder built in. I don't know how it compares to the SLC binocular, but it certainly had better optics than anything else in a rangefinding monocular.

The rangefinder gave me ranges in excess of 1500 yards with good conditions. It is a great rangefinder with excellent optics.

Ditto above; use mine as binoculars (blind in right eye) and RF. Optics are great & RF accurate out to 17-1900 yds. on larger targets.

If its anything like the 3 x -9x Swarovski I have on my 300 WSM. It would be the one to buy, I would buy one if and when I decide I need to have a range finder. Here is CT a long shot is 65 yards.
