Yesterday (about 7 weeks after ordering and being told 8 weeks lead time) the friendly brown truck driver dropped the new WOA upper at my door. This was a replacement upper for my RRA Coyote rifle as I found the stock upper to be a bit long and just a tad heavy for my taste. Sold off the stock upper and waited for this to arrive.

WOA varmint upper with 18" barrel, 1-7" twist, fluted the entire length, and coated matte black. Still just a touch heavier than I was expecting but not bad. With no mag, it balances just about the front of the mag well. Thinking I'll like this one more than the song dogs will smile That's a Redfield 2-7 on top in the RRA mount.

Hoping to carve out time Sat AM for a range trip - have to see how that goes.

You will love the way it shoots. White oak makes a great upper and the pacnor barrels are about as good as it gets

Sure hope so! I expect it will be a shooter and I'll enjoy the package. Actually didn't know they used Pac-Nor but I guess that will make it match 3 of the bolt guns around here.

Last time I checked, they used Wilson barrels unless you specified a different brand but it's been awhile.

That's what I was thinking but of course I could be mistaken. I didn't specify - figured they know plenty about how to make their uppers shoot so they don't need me telling them what barrel to use.

Regardless of brand - as long as this upper shoots well I'll be happy.

WOA is awesome. They use Wilson barrels, you can specify PacNor or Krieger if you order from White Oak Precision.

Yep, I went back and checked again, WOP offers different but WOA uses Wilson. Still not a bad barrel.

Never have seen a real bad Wilson, in fact I don't think I've owned or seen one that was worse than 3/4 moa with the right reloads. Not quite what I am after in accuracy generally but for bang about and practice guns plenty good, and seem to be quite reliable and consistent tube to tube.

There was a run of them that RRA must have used dull 3/8 drill bit to " crown" but once the crown was recut life was fine again.

This one isn't for competition use - will see some range work as well as varmint / coyote shooting. I expect it will be up to the task. Might even decide to take a doe with it at some point but that's not exactly demanding smile

Nice choice......we're eagerly awaiting that range report!

Is that a coated SS or Chromoly barrel?

Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21.
Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!
