A fire at Freight Consolidators in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe on February 3, 2012, resulted in the loss of trophies from August 2011 safari. Apparently, over 200 shipments affected. No info on cause or how it will affect future clients.

Wow, I have used them and they are nice people. I sure hope that the trophies are salvageable. Thanks for the heads up! Some things, we just cannot predict or control. Building codes and safey regs as well as environmental rules are pretty much non existant in Bulawayo.
I take it these are your trophies from your August trip that you are disscussing? If so, I am sure sorry. That would royally suck.
I lost a 52 inch Kudu and a beautifu scar free male Zebra hide to theft.
On the happier side or note, we both have reasons now to go back!

And here's the worst: A fellow's elephant tusks, one hundred and one pound tusks, were lost in that fire. Talk about climbing a water tower with a sniper rifle...

My trophies are awaiting shipment at Maple Freight in Bulawayo. Does anyone know if it is in the same building as Freight Consolidators?

My trophies were processed with TCI (formerly Taxidermy Enterprises). They use Maple Freight. I contact TCI and Maple Freight after hearing about the fire. Maple Freight was not involved in the fire.
