Like I said at the first of the thread, I preferred one like I had in matte stainless. I don't mind nickel on some guns, which is what polished stainless looks like, but I've got to where especially on a 1911, I prefer the more subdued tones. Heck, I don't even like duo tones, like blued/stainless. Black stainless is okay. However, since I got it, I kinda like it. It grows on you. I think some of y'all might feel the same way if it was yours. lol

Owning that thing would be like dating an ugly chick, I'd claim it, but wouldn't want to be seen in public with it.

You need to have the faux ivories inscribed:

Here is the PT1911 I used to have. I wanted another just like it, but the shiny gun was on sale and the Super cartridge sealed the deal. Old one is in 45 and has the same light attached.

Cole, did you ever get to know BC Kinsey who used to manage the gun library at the KC Cabela's?? He, until recently had for sale a pre-series 70 Super that had been owned by Larry Flynt (the Hustler Mag. owner). It was covered with sexually explicit engraving (not particularly well done). Really x-rated stuff. It was posted on Guns International for awhile until finally they made him remove the pics of the gun. Now THAT was a pimp gun!!

I think I have seen pics of that gun. You are right, that engraving was sho nuff!

I participated in a search warrant service on a guy who was involved in a marijuana trafficking ring, several years ago. When everything was secured, and the photos taken, etc, I sat behind his mahogany desk and scrolled through his recent calls on the caller ID.

Somewhere down in the list.... Larry Flynt. Ha, an old Kentucky hoodlum.

I'd probably know him if I saw him. I've seen pics of that gun too. Pretty explicit all right.

If you're going to roll your own ammo, try some HS-7 under a good 115 or 125, and don't be shy about pouring the powder.
