I recently purchased a used Remington speedmaster. I didnt fire it when I got it I cleaned it first so I can not vouche for how it fired before it came apart how ever I got it from a buddy who said it fired fine. My problem is I put a round in the chamber by working the bolt, fire and when I squeeze again nothing happens. The rifle chambers another round but I have to then re-cock the slide to set the pin. It acts as if the action is going only far enough to put a new round in but not far enough to reset the firing pin. Any thoughts from anyone would be great thank you!

Sounds like something is either missing, or not put together right. Have had a couple of these, replaced parts etc. but not enough of a expert to really advise you without looking at it.
All that said, if you don't get a good answer here, ask again in the Remington section over at rimfirecentral.
