Does anyone make a flip-up scope cover that locks in the open position?
I have been firing some heavy loads in a 300 Wby and the rear cover closes part way and then springs back open. It's just an annoyance.
Thanks

If it's a Leeeopold check their website, new covers available that are (IIRC) magnetic (cap) and screw onto the objective and ocular ends of the scope.

That is odd as I haven't experienced the same problem with my butler creeks on my 300ultramags.

I tried the Blizzard See-Thru first, and then the Butler Creek Flip-Open. It's an annoyance, not a problem.
Does the Alumina Flip-Back Lens Covers actually lay flat behind the hinge?

Noticing the movement (Slap on the eyebrow) of the flip-up cover is my own fault for creeping up the stock while shooting at the bench.
Until then I was not aware of the cover moving on any rifle that I have shot.

Mike

I had the same problem with a 9.25lb 300RUM with a Zeiss scope.
Solution 1: Leupold. ( an extra inch is almost always a good thing <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

Solution 2: The Butler creek caps are locking if you push the cap forward slightly after it flips up it will cam over and lock into place.
