Got a package in the mail today from Willie (cvmw) here on the fire. Here are his new aluminum TG's for the Kimber Montanas. This one is the prototype, the ones he sells will be anodized silver. Shoot him a PM for ordering details.

Any price? And will they fit all montanas?

Yes, they'll fit all montanas. Price... you'll have to contact cvmw, but I think he said around $50?

Ok,....I'll make about 30 to start, give me about two weeks to get them complete and anodized.
What would be the preferred Color for ano?

Black. The rest of my rifle is Cerakoted black, so...

If I were to get one, I would want to match the stainless as closely as possible.

1.8 oz difference between mine and the original stainless
Factory stainless weighs 2.74oz
Aluminum weighs .94oz

The best way to do that is to get a non-anodized trigger guard and have a fine bead-blast applied.

If I were selling these TG's that's how I'd offer them... not anodized.

Talley recently started anodizing their "stainless" rings, and they don't match at all... it almost never does.

I really like the as-tumbled finish.

What alloy did you go with?

Thanks for your input, I will bead blast some and have them Clear hard ano for durability, I will have some Tumble finished and some Hard Ano black.
And Some Anodized Titanium color.
That should cover what most are asking for.
Still open for suggestions.

If Anodized the "As-tumbled" finish usually goes away when they etch the product, I'll request non etching on a couple and see how that goes.

6061-T6 Is the alloy used.

Finished forty of them this weekend.
Mailed today, the Anodizer should have them tomorrow, hopefully they will turn them around fast (usually do)

20 Glass beaded and Titanium color ano requested

(Hardway, used your SS TG for color sample, as soon as I get it back I'll ship it to you, along with your aluminum)

10 Glass beaded and Black ano
5 tumble finished Black ano
6 tumble finished Titanium ano

All Hard Anodize.

Seems most wanted to keep the original color

THANK GOD! Now I'll be able to hump it up that mountain easier! Plus my wallet will be lighter now that that $50 bill is out of there!

You also wont have to carry that smart azz comment around as well.
