Shooting 100 grains 2F black powder and 320 grain TC maxi ball from an inline...Do you think that is enough for an elk at 100 yards and less?
It just seems like it is too small of a bullet after shooting my big bore 58 cal. rifle and 62 cal. smooth bore flintlocks.
There are no bad days hunting elk, some are just better.

It will do fine. Just don't shoot him in the ass.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a hunting license and that's pretty close.

Seems a little light. I'd be inclined to move up into a 500+ grain slug.

Seems a little light. I'd be inclined to move up into a 500+ grain slug. A .54 cal round ball at 220gr kills elk just fine. The 320gr maxi is a sure thing with a proper shot.
