Great find.Don't worry about the sling stud being put in the bullseye.I don't think Bubba did that job.Putting the stud there is a good thing because the bullseye is easy to replace.Be glad it was not put in so you would have to repair the stock.That is what Bubba would have done.What length is the barrel. Congratulations on a fine Marlin rifle.

it's a 16" barrel, that's what caught my eye. they made these in 1988 & 1989 if i can remember right.
