Has anyone done any reloading with Superformance Powder? I picked some up the other day and now I am looking for some base line data. It will be behind a 55gr VMax. I am using a 26in tube @ 1 in 12.

I'll say 36 grains. Am I right?

(seriously, do not use the above load data as I have no idea what cartridge you plan to use.)

Sorry about that. Every bit of info except the most important part 22-250. Sorry again I was in a hurry.

I have done worse. Like posting pictures of a Cape Buff I killed and claiming to have shot him in the year that had not even started yet! And then there is my spelling and dyslexic moments...

I will be watching this thread as well as I will be playing with this powder some when I get another 22 Cheetah built. I have had two in years past.

I traded for the dies set without having one single piece of the build in hand, nor any money for such. Sigh.......

Josh,

Hodgdon doesn't list data for anything lighter than the 60 VMax, but I bet you could safely use the 60 gr start numbers and work up from there. Given that you're a new loader I'd strongly consider working up to accuracy rather than "max," personally.

You going back to the cottage to get that bottle that humiliated us last weekend? Dude the weather is CRAZY warm this week... glad we were up there when we were!

I look forward to hearing about your results,

efw

ps- fwiw, Hodgdon lists 3850 fps w/ that new CFE-2223 & a 55 in 22-250!

I talked to Hornady the other day and they strongly recommend not using the Superfomance powder with anything less than the 60gr. I am currently loading some Speer 52gr HPs and 55g VMax with IMR 4895. Eric I am also going to try the CFE. I passed on picking it up last weekend although it was tempting me. I am going to try that in the AR and work some up in the 22-250 too with both the Speer and the VMax that I have. I just processed and primed a bunch of brass. Yes Eric I will be after that bottle, I will hit it with the range finder and let you know how far out it was. No matter what I will hit it!

Let us know the comparison between CFE and Superformance. That would be interesting information.

I've never used that powder but didn't need to look any farther than varget.its loud but it shot very well and produced great speeds.
