nope, that's not your deer at the processor. your deer doesn't have a tiny fork at the right front tine like on the one at the processor. now, them two might have had the same daddy ...

Good news...I don't think it was my buck. I talked to the processor today, and he said the deer was killed in a different area.
Phew!

Looking at the photos, I would say it was "your" buck. The brow tines have the same curves to them as your photos do, the tips are forked in both photos (the angle is bad for the right antler on the deer at the processor, but it's there), the left G3 is angled in slightly more than the right in both photos. Too many similarlities to be a different buck.
I spent the last year as a state wildlife tech, where the bulk of my work was going over trail cam photos and identifying different bucks based on antler similarities, then estimating their age. I've looked at literally thousands of trail cam photos and can confidently say that it's the same deer.
Maybe the hunter told the processor he got it in a different area because he didn't want his place overrun with slob hunters looking for another decent buck. Many guys are protective and downright secretive when it comes to giving details about their hunting spots, and with good reason.
That said, did you find out the age? If you take a pic of the mandibular molars, I can tell you, but I'm still guessing it isn't over 3.5. Nice buck, too bad you couldn;t connect with him.

Easy way to solve this question.
GO shoot the S.O.B.
If you post pics of "your deer", then the one at the packing plant is a different critter.
If not, well, it was "your deer" and you shoulda took him during bow season. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
If the former, I'll be there next fall. If the latter, go get his eldest son instead. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

maybe just ask the hunter that shot him if the deer was full of corn? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Something clever here.

That is the same deer. And that guy said he shot it somewhere else just to throw everyone off. And he probably shot it on your property and didn't want to get caught.

Well, thats deer hunting.
No matter how mutch time you spend scouting, spotting, locating and setting-up - the guy who just goes out and "Plops-Down" can kill the buck just as easy.
