that's my old Sony A900 with the new Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro.

I've only had the lens a few days, but so far I'm liking it (especially with the Sony FM58 flash,bracket, and diffuser.)

Matt, the lens looks to be sharp judging from these downsized images. Have you noticed much fall-off at the edges and corners? How do you like the bokeh?

the bokeh's actually pretty good (not Ziess good, but pretty good).

CA is more of an issue in strong light.

very little fall off on the FF sensor, none at all on the APS-C sensor.

It's a very good lens for $400 & change.

I have been using that lens for well over 25 years now and love it. I love the edge to edge sharpness especially.


Great photography is not about being in the right place at the right time, it is about putting yourself in the right place at the right time.
