OP AKHntr Campfire Regular A Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 2,661	Why do half of the threads on the Fire turn into Pity Parties? Seems like some come on here just looking for pity from their peers who also thrive on pity. I have always found it to be a weakness for the pitied and the pitier. Man Up and don't do sulking around looking for pity is what I must say.

Posting pics of their ugly women. Oh, I got snake bit one of them says. Next thing you know four or five members jump in and say how sorry they are. Well that's nothing one of them says, my wife of so many years is leaving and met a new boyfriend. Next thing you know four or five members jump in and tell how they got over theirs doing it to them. You name it, the forum is loaded with examples of members wanting pity. It is as if they never faced hard times before or think if they share it others will bear the burden that is theirs.

Now I need a break. hahaha I showed them your on line request and they just giggled and started laughing. I am not officially dating them. Just get together now and then. I know their families and have for a while. I keep my rig at their house in Fairbanks so it all works out for the best.

Those really living don't need pity. If they are having a tough go of it they need to be told to buck up and get with it. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Otherwise you run the risk of turning them into a wino or drunk or sulker that will have to be seeing a psych doc.
