Just bought a box of 40gr Nosler Varmageddon's for my 223. Anybody tried these yet and willing to share any load data? I have several different powders on hand and thought I might let you guys get me going in the right direction before I started slinging bullets.
I'm hoping to find a load and use it on my annual prairie dog trip to Montana this summer.

27g of A2230 shoots sub .5moa in my Savage with 22" barrel and gives 3,485 fps with a col of 2.220.

28gr's of TAC shot extremely well. Groups tightened up when I got to .030" off the lands. I'd primarily been shooting 50gr NBT's in this gun at .015" off. Do the lighter bullets like a little more jump? Any use in trying a few a little shorter?

Try Benchmark or Xterminator.

Yep. Both are very good, along with TAC.
Benchmark is one of the fastest powders with lighter bullets in the .223, and typically produces very fine accuracy. From the 22" barrel of my T/C Icon 28.0 grains gets 3800+ fps, and groups 5 shots into .65" or so at 100 yards.

I tried Benchmark. The TAC loads were more accurate. Benchmark is my go-to with 50gr NBT's. My load with the 50's is a little closer to the lands. I think the lighter bullets like more jump in my rifle.

I went out and loaded up a batch of 35 gr NTXs in the 223, using Benchmark.. here I was playing with what powder to try for the next time out in the field when the rain quits... and you help make up my mind... thanks!
