With all the hype last year on TV, the internet, newspapers etc, you would think Teblow would be worth a 1st rounder. I just saw on Sportscenter yesterday someone declare that he might not get picked up by anyone.

Peyton will be in the Pro Bowl within two years any body want to bet me? Nobody understands how good he is and how intelligent he is. He is going to make the Bronco's decision look like a very smart one.

Manning is on the way down (past his peak); Tebow is on his way up, but needs some seasoning. Assuming Tebow stays in Denver, Manning can be a great teacher for him.

Manning's quick release will sure benefit his neck injury, he doesn't hold the ball very long.

How did that tutoring work for Curtis Painter?

According to this, there's no extra risk to Manning's injury.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/03...manning-docs-say-yes-if-fusion-is-solid/

A couple of excerpt:

Quote
Some fans hear the words neck fusion and wonder why Manning is even considering playing again, fearful hell risk a career-ending injury or worse the next time he takes a hit.

But safety isnt Mannings issue, several spine specialists told The Associated Press. Arm strength is.

Mannings surgically repaired neck will be able to take a hit just fine once the fusion is healed, with the bone actually stronger than others in his neck. Nerves are delicate, however, and only time will tell if theyll recover enough for the four-time NFL MVP to be the quarterback he once was.

His risk really is very low, said Dr. Robert S. Bray Jr., who has worked with NHL star Sidney Crosby and whose DISC Sports & Spine Center provides medical services for the U.S. Olympic team.

Quote
If I was a team, Id ask, Did (the fusion) heal? Do you have a CAT scan that showed it healed? Is the rest of neck in pretty good shape? Bray asked. If those two answers are yes, then it gets down to, OK, get out on the field and show me you can perform, because it will only get better from here with time.

Manning missed the entire 2011 season with a damaged nerve that caused weakness in his right arm and required multiple neck surgeries, including a single-level fusion in September. He has brushed off questions about retirement, insisting that after parting ways with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday he still wants to play.

And theres no risk to him doing so, say several doctors in the field who have not examined Manning. Dr. Robert Watkins, Mannings surgeon, is not commenting on the quarterback, his office said Thursday.

The only issue is whether he'll regain his arm strength. I expect the Broncos checked that out, as well as his health.

Elway won Super Bowls at age 37 and 38.

Manning will be just fine. I suspect the Broncos will too, considering Tebow got them to a playoff win. They can't be without talent.

I'd take Peyton at 75% of his peak over 75% of the league's QBs.

His 2010 QB rating was 77% of his best ever, and was still 10th in the league.

Peyton is far from Favre territory on staying too long.

Manning has redefined the game. He studies the game and opposing players, defenses, coaches better than anyone in the history of the game. The defense must react to what the offense does and Peyton knows where every defender will be 2 seconds after the snap before they do.

Give him a few receivers with good hands and no speed and a mediocre offense line and he will pick the best defense in the league to pieces with short quick passes before he ever gets touched. It is pretty obvious by now that the Colts had a mediocre team at best without Peyton and they were contenders every year with him.

That is the type of quarterback everyone is going after since Peyton came into the league. Gunslingers like Tebow, Favre and Elway cannot compete in todays NFL. The trend is already in college and even most successful high school teams have adopted this style of offense.

With his style of play I think he has 5 more years in him and look for him to be successful.

I guess I took all the fun out of folks joyfully predicting he'll be a quadriplegic after game one?

Exactly. He is like having the best offensive coordinator in the game on the field playing football. You don't need a gun to pick apart defenses. Yes you have to make certain throws and I fully think that he is still capable of that. Will some NFL scumbag thug try to maim him ? That is a given. I like Tebow but to mention him in the same breath as Manning is sacrilege.

Now we have some people talking common sense! Do you think with the heart Peyton has he wont come back strong? You take his heart, his skill and his intelligence and put that with a Playoff caliber team. Good things will happen.
Hopefully Eli is busting his chops to about his two Super Bowl rings to give him a little more motivation.

I like Peyton and all but remember, he has a losing record in the playoffs - he does need SOME help. Denver can't just wiff on the draft or totally ignore the talent they have.

It will take more than just his presence to win a SB.

I don't think Manning is smart enough to figure out how to get his reciever to recatch a ball they dropped.

If Tebow was a steak, he'd need tenderizing am marinade and a slow cooker to make him palatable. The guy can't make the throws consistently enough to be an NFL QB. I'm a huge Broncos fan and I cheered as hard as anyone for him. Time to take the freak show back to Florida.

So did Elway up until he was 36. Marino? sub .500 Fouts? below .500

You have to have the pieces. I'll be interested to see who Denver picks up in the next few weeks. Holding my breath for Wallace...

That's my point - None of the so called "greatest of all times" did it alone.

Denver can't be complacent.

How many more dogcrap seasons will it take Teblow to be good? Probably never will be. Look at Cam Newton, he did pretty damn good for a rookie. Teblow is not even in the same league as he is.
