I might take you up on that. Spokane is unfamiliar territory.

You have secret spots that far from home?

You're lucky, there. I've been to, rather- through, WA only once in 50 years, and this visit will probably last me the next 50. And I don't know that I know anyone within 200 miles to whom I could whisper your secrets.

Sounds like we should plan a Swat alumni social! Maybe trade a few hooks.

ribka,
I have a can of Canadian coins that merchants down here refuse. Is it spendable up there, or do think I'd be able to find someone willing to buy it all from me?

I'll be going to Dawson City - and can spend it there. You live pretty close to Canada too though? How much do you have?

In Alaskan terms, yes- I live close to Canada.
In States miles, Google Maps tells me it's a 1000-mile drive to Vancouver.

How much do I have?
What do they use up there- Pounds Sterling? Rupees? Centavos? Kroner?
How do they count- base 6? Base 8.5?

But I'll try...
Let's see- divide by 5, carry the 7, divide and conquer, carry a tune, multiply like rabbits, carry the load, square the circle, --$26. Exactly.
My little conversion Widget tells me that's worth a bit (two bits, actually) over $25 US.

Dawson is as close as I've gotten to AK. As teens, four of us canoed a section of the Yukon; took out at Dawson.

Dawson is a bit closer for me -- only about 503 miles.
