Got ol' corncob 760 that appeared factory D&T. Need to check S/N again, forget vintage.

I had an early one that wasn't, it was a shooter though; wish I'd kept it.

I've got one made in 1953 that was drilled and tapped. Did you buy it new? I have looked at 3 on GB the last few months and none were drilled and tapped of that year vintage.

I have a '52 model that was NOT drilled and tapped from the factory. Pretty obvious to see it was done well after the fact.

Yes , at first I didn't realize they were not drilled and tapped and was going to buy one. Oh Hell I should have bought it anyway and had it drilled and tapped. I was looking at the 5 diamonds

Remington's site shows 1952 as the intro year for 760s. I've read the first year they weren't D&T.

I have a 760 in .35 Remington from 1955 that has never been drilled and tapped for a scope. Someone drilled and tapped it for a receiver sight, and installed a Williams FP. What I recall from when this came up before is that there was a period in the 50's where some were d & t, some weren't, and by the 60's all were.

Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money but we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money. What's interesting is the first group WORKED for their money but the other group didn't.
