I've been trying to decide what brand of spotting scope I wanted within my price range. I have absolutely no use for a $1500 scope as my needs are generally toward spotting rockchucks out to 500 yards. Very little early morning and late evening spotting.
So, I called CameraLand this a.m. I was considering the Vortex Nomad even though I figured 45X would be the maximum power needed. The sales person told me that buying the 20-60-60 would be quite sufficient as most spotters crap out at 75% of power. He also said if I didn't like the scope, return it in new condition for a refund or credit. Now that is good service. So, next week it should be here and I will give it a good workout.
I really appreciate this kind of service. They are more than just a good sponsor of this page.

The folks at CLNY continually set the bar very very high!

Have purchased a number of items from them. Cannot beat their customer service.
Customer service is very important in my purchasing decisions.
I always will go to them first.

I recently talked with Doug and he told me they advertise/sponsor something on the order of 52 different hunting, shooting, and birdwatching websites! I wonder, as a percentage of total membership, where the 'Fire ranks as to amount of purchases from CLNY? I'll bet pretty highly.

Can't agree more. I have bought more than 40 high-end products from Doug (Leica, Minox and Zeiss) over the past 8 years - just the most incredible service you could ever imagine. And, Doug has become a VERY good friend to me - not something that happens often when you buy from someone. I would NEVER EVER buy optics from anyone else. Hats off to you guys Doug!!!

Yep, same here on Cameraland's quality and service. I bought a new Vortex 20-60x85 spotter a couple years ago for $199.99 on special, and it's been tremendous. Later bought a Leica 900 yd rangefinder, delighted with it as well. They both came two days after I placed the order. I'll be back.

Doug has earned my business for LIFE. I've been a member of the Camera Land family for a while, and the level of service and the trust of the consumer is not equaled by any other sporting optics dealer that I've run across.
I, for one, am glad Doug and crew post here, and offer us specials that aren't readily available to the average web-surfer.

First stopped of at CLNY when I was in the city about 5 years ago. Picked up some Pentax binos. Always go back. Many of their "samples" have found their way to my doorstep. Very happy with the service and quality. Just picked up a Zeiss demo. Doug called me to talk about it as it wasn't up to his "demo" standards just to make sure I would be okay with it.
In Arnold's famous words... "I'll be back..."

Was searching all around locally and on the net for some quality, compact binos late last year. Wound up getting some 10x26mm Steiners from cameraland and they were on sale for a price I couldn't resist. They got here quickly and I love 'em. They are everything I was led to believe. No B.S. or runaround. I'd do business with those folks anytime.

The Zeiss is my first purchase with them. Very friendly and the scope got here really quick. I just couldn't pass up the demo price. I was looking at the same scope in the same condition without the target knobs in another store for $200 more not including taxes just today. That put a big smile on my face!
