I love mine in .22-250 rem. Its not quite a full blown varmint rifle because it lacks a wide flat bottomed fore end needed for serious sand bag use. Its more of what you call a walking varmint rifle.

Pros - sweet trigger, not too heavy, CRF action, three position safety, plenty accurate, a real beauty, one of the easiest pointing rifles I own

Cons - too pretty to carry in the brush, the 26" barrel on mine makes it a little top heavy while carrying over the shoulder with a sling and bipod attached

I had one in the exact same gun. It was a tack driver. I traded that gun in a moment of weakness. Wish I had it back!

The Pro's mentioned above were dead on. For me there were no cons. The majority of my varmint hunting is done in a mobile fashion--mainly the B&B (butt and bipod). The barrel is heavy enough for prolonged shooting, but the gun is light enough to carry....and I really like the looks/feel on the wood stock.

I may have just talked myself into another one...

I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!

I had the exact same gun, and I see the cons as the exact gun, thats why I sold it... It was too pretty to carry and when I started getting heavily into predator calling I sold it and bought an AR and a 788 (the 788 has moved on).

I've had a couple, the Pro Varmint and Varmint. I now have a Varmint in .204 and was just at the range today. Very nice, very accurate and a good rifle to rotate thru at the range.
Don't have any pd's here so may have to go west.

Course the OP may have to get out of prison before he can get one, but maybe they allow them there now?

I have a Kimber Varmint in 204 Ruger. It is boring acurate. The wood is exceptionally nice, it looks nice on the wall, but it is first and foremost a varmint rig. I do not have a problem with taking it on the quad when I go prairie dog shooting. It's a bit overkill for gophers. They fly into little pieces when hit with a 204.

Yeah, I too would like to have a Kimber Varmint in a 204, I think it would be a great gun.

Start saving the extra coin..
