Well, I always try to do the right thing, but I can't see the error in buying this scope at the price they ask after being informed of the model diff!!! Afterall, there may be something wrong with the scope and there could be warranty problems----one can't be sure??

I once bought a NIB Browning BL-17 (yes BL-17) from a dealer for $440. Took it home and sold it on Gunbroker 14 days later for $750. They only made those for one year. I had no need, but I knew it was a rare bird. Some folks (including dealers) don't know what the true market place price is. One has to stay on ones toes.

When I worked as a salesman & buyer for a buy/sell business, our policy was to never lie about the value of something. Tell 'em what it's worth at used retail, make an offer at 60%- 70% of that, if it happens it happens.
There was one exception. If someone came in all full of piss and vinegar and slapped their guitar on the counter and said "I want $500 for this and dont you azzholes try to Jew me down!" (we'd hear that surprisingly often) but the guitar was worth way more than that, I'd smile and write them a check for what they were asking for.
As the world transitioned to eBay, I know for a fact we'd get guys in who were trying to find something we'd underpriced. I'm sure they succeeded. But there's nothing wring with paying what a store is asking for something.
The CENTER will hold.
