Does anybody have any real world experience with the latest Vanguard S2? If you read the specs on the rifles and from past history of the original vanguards accuracy, along with the reasonible prices.... this lineup should do very well and more people would be commenting about them. I have searched the web and found very few reviews or comments about the S2 line. I have read a few gun writers talk about the gun but you can only believe so much of their write ups.
Does anyone have any experience with the new lineup?
Thanks.

I purchased one of these in 257 wthby last fall before deer season. I don't claim to be the best shot in the world but WOW this rifle makes me look good. First 3 shot group after sighting in was an honest inch with the cheapest factory ammo, which ain't cheap. I bought it because I plan to reload and it was as cheap or cheaper than new brass. I also hit an empty can of wasp spray with my first shot off of a fence post that was a lasered 300yrds.
Made my longest whitetail kill to date with it this past season at just past 300yds.
I really like the 2 stage trigger. The gun is a little on the heavy side but it is my beanfield gun anyway so not really worried about weight.
My shooting buddy was skeptical when I ordered it. He's a Browning fan. He still considered a Vanguard to be a Wal-Mart gun. After shooting it, he is now seriously considering ordering one for himself.
Mine cost me $450 including my smith's FFL fee. To say I am pleased would be a huge understatement.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.

I have the Vanguard S2 in 270 Winchester. Got it when they first came out. It,s Stainless Steel. Really like the trigger, about 3 lbs. Very smooth action. Shoots 140gr Gamekings and Accubonds the best. put a Nikon Monarch on it 2X8X32.

Shoots under the 1" at 100yards.

Academy still carries the older WBY Vanguard synthetics for $399. I wonder when they will get the new ones?

Was in Cabela's and saw they raised the S2 prices to $499 now. Sportsmans is usually about $50+ cheaper for rifles.
