I'm glad I found this site. I've got a chance to buy a model 99C and don't know what a fair price would be. This is an inlaw that is selling and I want no hard feelings but I'm not made of money either. The serial number is1134xxx and the caliber is .243 Win. The condition is probably 95%+. I'm betting there hasn't been more than a few boxes of ammo through it. I'd like to know @ when it was manufactured, a reasonable value, and if there is a source for an additional clip? Any help will be appreciated. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif" alt="" />

Welcome to the forum! Here is a recent post about value. Clips or magazines are listed on e-bay often. https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/626759/an/0/page/0#626759
Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

When it comes to choosing friends....I'm at an age where I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Then you have to ues the relative scale. Starting at a median price,... say $350.00 If it is a direct relative, add $20.00, an inlaw subtract $20.00. A favored inlaw, only subtract $10.00. A direct relative that knows you like guns, subtract $20.00. An inlaw that knows you like guns, subtract $30.00. Favored inlaw, subtract $25.00. An elderly relative that will probably leave you all his/her guns, add $50.00..etc. etc..

Thanks for all of the info folks. IF this in-law was on my wife's side of the family and IF I was planning a divorce in the near future, I might try the $200 offer. But, he's a nice guy & married to my sister, so I'll start a little higher.
