For you guys that pack in for week long stays, what do you use for a daypack once u set up camp. I have the Badlands 4500 and it has a small fanny pack that I use for a daypack but it's not quite big enough. Almost but not quite......
I would like a shoulder strap type fanny, nothing to big. I rigged a shoulder strap for my baflands fanny but it was kind of cumbersome and a little to small. I just need something small and light with a bigger compartment that will still hold a big bladder and has cargo straps for clothing/Raingear.
I thought about just using the 4500 as a daypack but it would be a lot to pack around. Seems Kind of senseless to pack a pack in your pack as far as weight goes though?
Any thoughts or other threads that may already discuss this?? Thanks.....

I've used a Whitetail Hunter that I bought from Cabela's in the early 80's. It has 3 outer pockets, it is made of camouflage fleece with a leather bottom and has 2500 cubic inches capacity. It works great for me to carry all my gear, water, accessories, etc. and still have room to pack out a boned out deer. Seems I can't wear it out. Need to hunt more I guess!

Kifaru Ultralight (UL) 5200. It compresses down extremely well, weighs sub-3#s, has the gunbearer to carry the bow (or rifle), etc. You can put as much weight in it as you can carry when you are successful too. Just tie the extra strap lengths up so they don't dangle when you hunt with it. It is quiet enough for me to successfully bowhunt with it on.

I've always used the same pack I went in with. My wife's pack has a lid that turns into a fanny pack, and it's just big enough for a rain jacket, water, lunch, and a few essentials.
I know there are a bunch of stuff sacks that turn into small daypacks. Been meaning to check them out.

Me too, I like taking the full pack along during the day, I tend to carry enough stuff to stay comfortable for the whole day, and it carries a good load of meat and horn back to camp when success blesses me.
