Got some Carbonera last week-end, that was LOADED with garlic.
Sure was yummie, BUT my Wife said my breath stunk from 3 feet away.
Tried drinking a 12 oz.can of 'mater juice, didn't help...Brushed my teeth with vinagar, still didn't help.
Used listerine strips 'till I was nasious...Didn't help. Finally wore off after two days.
Any great ideas for "next time" ????
Thanks! (and my Wife says thanks!)
Virgil B.

There is that! Invite them over for carbonara too! It all evens out. On the plus side the skeeters will leave ya alone!

we used to chow on fresh parsley sprigs when we needed to freshen our breath from certain smoking substances. Works to a certain extent with garlic...
best thing is to make sure your partner eats as much garlic as you do.

The odor from garlic and onion is from metabolic compounds of those foods getting into your bloodstream. It then passes the membranes in your lungs and comes out in your breath. It's NOT from your mouth. That's why brushing, gargling, chewing gum does little to help. ........................................... Garlic, onions and exotic spices (such as curry) are common sources of problems for many people. As these foods are digested certain compounds are transmitted from the blood through the lungs and exhaled for up to 24 hours. http://www.health911.com/bad_breath

Thanks! Looks like I just need to let it "wear off"
Will try parsley to see if that helps...Heck, I'll try the baking soda also. (grin!)

If you eat raw garlic frequently your stomach develops enzymes that let you process it differently. The smell abbates naturally.

I find eating lemon peels helps out a lot. If I go out to eat and order something that gives me bad breath, I'll ask for a slice of lemon or lime and eat the whole thing
