President Bush May Send Up To 5 Marines For French Assistance
President Bush has authorized the Joint Chiefs to begin drawing up a
battle plan to pull France's ass out of the fire again. Facing an
apparent overwhelming force of up to 400 pissed off teenagers Mr. Bush
doubts France's ability to hold off the little pissants. "Hell, if the
last two world wars are any indication, I would expect France to
surrender any day now", said Bush. Joint Chiefs head, Gen. Peter Pace,
warned the President that it might be necessary to send up to 5 marines
to get things under control. The general admitted that 5 marines may be
overkill but he wanted to get this thing under control within 24 hours
of arriving on scene. He stated he was having a hard time finding even
one marine to help those ungrateful bastards out for a third time but
thought that he could persuade a few women marines to do the job before
they went on pregnancy leave.
President Bush asked Gen. Pace to get our marines out of there as soon
as possible after order was restored. He also reminded Gen. Pace to make
sure the marines did not take soap, razors, or deodorant with them. The
least they stand out the better.

I'm a patriotic American, probably as patriotic, or mores so than most. And I am a veteran. I served my country in uniform. And I am duly proud of the USA.
Therefore the following is not a condemnation of my country, just historical comment.
* Vietnam.
I was there, for 5 long hard grueling years. I believe 42,000 Americans gave their lives. But, did you see the yellow belly Americans fleeing! Turned tail and ran away from the Viet Cong. The most powerful nation on earth running from a bunch of poor, peasant Vietmanese ??? Did you see the Americans fleeing to the top of the American Embassy and boarding helicopters ?
* Lebanon.
Do you remember that. The Americas turned tail and ran as fast as their yellow bellies could take them ? A gang of Arabs sent them packing.
Somalia:
The bragadosio, bravado Americans went in there to capture a warlord and the Somalis dutifuly piled up Black Hawk helicopters. Then dragged American pilots corpses in the streets. The Americans packed up, turned tail and ran as fast as their legs could carry them.
* Korea:
General Douglas McArthur. Remember him. He was commander in chief of allied forces in the Pacific. He accepted Japans surrender. Then he decided he would push the Red Communist Koreans back up Northe and ran smack dab into 2 million Chinese. Harry Truman, Good Old Harry. He fired McArthur and turned his yellow back. Retreated back down South.
* General Custer.
Remember him. The redskins taught him a lesson he will never remember. He was wiped out.
* The Alamo:
Do you remember the Alamo ? Mexicans kicked their butt and exterminated the whole lot.
So - it's OK to express ones opinion. But it's also OK to label sanctimonious hypocrites as fabricators of myths.

You have confused the loss of a battle with surrender. The French just surrender instead of trying fighting first.

BTW - I have a very good friend who was a U.S.M.C. sniper assigned to those barracks in Lebanon. From his position that day, he survived the bombing, but the five rounds he put into the truck weren't enough. I'm sure he'd be happy to discuss Lebanon with you...
As for the rest of it, it ranks right up there with "France is the greatest place in the history of the world" revisionist BS that you spew.
Oh, and I forgot to add: the defacing of the Iwo Jima monument was the LAST straw.

Unfortulately many of these antagonistic Francophobes don't even know history and probably were not even born in the era they constantly malign.
As you point out there are people and there are politicians, both in France and in the USA.
Why is it that the "Free French Resistance" never get any credit or recognition, from these hypocrites, for saving so many GI's from the Germans. Charles DeGaulle was an ally. A pain in the ass but an ally. And so France has been.
Benito Mussolini was NOT an ally yet the Italians always catch a "free ride".
It isn't these red necks disdain for French bravery, it's surely something else.
Apparently they don't know very much about the French Foreign Legion.
They should hear what Frenchmen have to say about them !!
