I picked up a SS T3 in 270 Win to fill the gap between my 243 and 300 Win Mag, and I sure am pleased.

In sighting in and barrel break in, it looks like it is going to shoot every factory load I have tried under an inch. It has so far delivered under 1" 3 shot groups just shooting out the window of my pickup (actually a postition I shoot almost as well as off a bench - have blasted lots of coyotes and hogs over the years from that position with the mirror just right and my elbow locked into the steering wheel. ) I had some old Fed Premium 130's and tried some fusion 130's and Remington CL 130's and it likes them all. There is just about 3/4 of an inch elevation difference in how it shoots the different loads, so I think I can sight in and use any of the three. I also had 5-6 rounds of old Norma 270 ammo which I used to sight in before shooting a few groups with the others, and it seemed to track like it should in sight in and shoot that ammo well also.

The handling and balance of this rifle has really impressed me. It is really becoming a favorite in a hurry.

I did lighten the trigger to 2lbs (very easy) and it is nice and crisp, although I wish it were a little wider.

The action handles really well and the length seems well suited to the 270 win. It is really slick.

For the price (or even more money), I just couldn't be much happier.

I am now thinking I need a 223 or 22-250 in a T3 for a practice gun - even the mild 270 recoil is pretty sharp in so light a gun. I didn't notice it much until I got up around 15-20 rounds, but I like to have a cheap to shoot practice/varmint gun to match my favorite hunting rifles.

Just wanted to give you folks a quick report. If you are considering a T3, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Well, I too have a Tikka T3 Stainless in 270 and I couldn't agree with you more. Mine, like yours, shoots almost anything you throw at it into 1" or less. It's a BORINGLY accurate rifle.
I've shot over the years, several T3's, 695's and 595's in such calibers as 7-08, 25-06, 308, 22/250 and 223 and not a single one of them had even the slightest problem and all were scary accurate.
Anyone looking for a fantastic bolt rifle should definitely check out the T3.
