Hodgdon introduced this powder recently but I have not seen any data. It is supposed to work in the big mags and the 50 BMG. I see Mule Deer is back and there was a blurb on LoadData.com about the stuff. I hunted with a guy who was using it in a 30/378 recently.

I'd really like info on this powder as well. I also miss my beloved H870...tried H50BMG and didn't like it much...about to try WC872 but the temperature sensitivity scares me a little.... This stuff sounds like it might just be the ticket for 300 RUM-type rounds.

My ole Dad once told that if you find something you really like buy a lifetime supply because they will soon stop making it. I still have about 5lbs of H870. At my age that is probably a lifetime supply. My 270 and 257 Roys love the stuff. If the price on the cans is correct I paid 87 cents a lb. Yes, I have had it awhile, but 4 of the cans are still sealed.

I agree 100 percent with XXBob. One of my favorite powders is Winchester's WMR It and H-450 were just differnt lots of the same powder. That stuff makes my .300 Win. Mag. and .270 Win. just sing. I never have found out why Winchester dropped it, but I did find four 8 pound cans of the stuff, all with the same lot number. I'll probably live long enough to use it all, but I'm sure gonna try.

The tech's at Accurate Powder told me that Mag Pro was just a slow lot of H450/WMR. I still have some of those powders and Mag Pro is much slower then either.
I like Ramshot Magnum better but it is a tad slower then MP it seems to me.
