Gents,

Here is a really nice peice of Oregon Black Walnut that has been air dried of about 10 years now. The blank dimensions are 36" long by 6" deep by 2" thick. The blank is not thick enough for a cheekpeice but will work for any other style of one piece or two piece gunstocks. A full sized Rem 700 Classic style pattern is shown along side of it. One note- the lower corner of the left side of the blank was rounded a bit to remove a bit of sap wood when it was cut. It does not affect the yield of the use of the blank for a gustock at all.

The blank is 3/4 sawn with nearly perfect grain flow . There are no knots or defects in the blank- very sound.

The figure in it is amazing. Nice color bands with fine consistent and strong fiddleback curl throughout. There is lots of movement in the figure as you move it to change the lighting on it. It's simply gorgeous and Blank walnut with this level of figure is getting harder and harder to find at a reasonable price.

If this were a 2.25" thick blank, it would be worth every penny of $300+. Since it is only 2"thick, I am pricing it at $195 shipped CONUS.

Any form of payment is fine, but PayPal is preferred. The price is firm- No trades, layaways or lowball offers please.

THANKS and have a Blessed Easter Sunday!

What is the typical cost to inlet, checker and finish a wood blank like this? That blank had me daydreaming.

Mine cost $450 with ebony foreend tip, shadow-lined cheek piece, Dwecelrrator and checkering, Thw wood was min, so it did not figure in that cost.

Kind of thought that would be spendy, but that chunk of wood might be enough to justify it. Great figure on it.
