I have some 45-70 cartridges that I loaded for my Pedersoli Sharps. It is a mixed bag of 500 and 525 gr. over IMR 4198 or Varget. Since I found what I was looking for in a load, is it a good idea to pass (sell) these along to someone else who may be interested in trying a variety of loads or is the prudent thing to do to just shoot them up? I know what's in them and have been shooting them, but am I opening myself up to liability?

If they were mine, I'd either shoot them for offhand practice, foulers or pull them and load them up with your current load.
It's not that Liberals are unwilling to listen to another point of view, they are just simply amazed that another one exists.

Too easy to get a lawyer on your tail with a lawsuit, especially if the ammo goes into a firearm not designed for modern loads. I'd only give them to somebody I absolutely trusted not to do dumb things. Just an opinion...

When faced with this situation, I pull the bullets and redo with my current load, or shoot for practice. I am as cheap as they come, but it ain't worth the possible trouble, however remote, for the money you would get for them.

I'd shoot them or sell them with the designation that they are for components only.

http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/manufacturers.htmlQ: Is a person who reloads ammunition required to be licensed as a manufacturer? Yes, if the person engages in the business of selling or distributing reloads for the purpose of livelihood and profit. No, if the person reloads only for personal use. [18 U.S.C. 922(a) (i) and 923(a), 27 CFR 478.41] Q: Must a licensed manufacturer pay excise taxes? Yes. Licensed manufacturers incur excise tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition manufactured. See Item 17, Federal Excise Tax in the General Information section of this publication.
